Drink one of these protein shakes as a meal replacement for breakfast or lunch or as an after workout recovery. A touch of cream cheese makes it extra delectable. If you like coconut in your carrot cake, you could add about 1 tablespoon of unsweetened coconut to your shake.

Christmas can’t pass without a Gingerbread Protein Shake or a Candy Cane Protein Shake. During fall I’m all about Pumpkin Spice Protein Shakes. Valentine’s Day should be celebrated with a Red Velvet Protein Shake. Summers are for Lemon Meringue.
Carrots are full of Vitamin A and are a wonderful natural sweetener. Plus they turn your shake a beautiful orange hue. Playing with protein shakes is one of my favorite things to do. No need to try to force down vanilla protein shake after vanilla protein shake when so many delicious flavors are possible. Some other great choices are Chocolate Avocado and Chocolate Raspberry. Or maybe Banana Bread, Banana Pudding, or Oatmeal Raisin. The options are endless.
Carrot Cake Protein Shake
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 3/4 cup shredded carrot
- 1 ounce 1/3 less fat cream cheese, room temperature
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- pinch of nutmeg
- 1 packet stevia
- 3/4 cup water
- 3-4 ice cubes
- chopped pecans for garnish (optional)
Combine all ingredients except pecans in a blender and blend until smooth. Top with pecans.
Yield: 1 serving
